The Black Dice Blues - concert

The Black Dice Blues Duo of N.C. "Piedmont" Blues artist R.C. "Spider" Webb and Mex-urban Virtuoso guitarist Rolondo Gotes are excited to present the 3rd installment of our super popular "HONKEYTONK, ROADHOUSE & CANTINA SHOW on February 20th at 7:30. Tickets are 250 pesos at the events desl or on the day of the show. Advance tickets are recommended as we usually fill the place up.

R.C. "Spider" Webb, besides being a "Piedmont" style (fast finger picking with two steel finger picks for the melody along with a strong alternating thumb pick for the bass), also has musical roots in mountain music, traditional country music, country/western and more recently Tex-Mex and Corridos of the Mexican Revolution. Our show includes a great collection of these styles.

Rolando Gotes, origionally from Torreon, is one of the top players in San Miguel with roots in jazz, Latin, Rytm and Blues, Rock&Roll, and just about any other type of music.We met at a party and have been playing together fo r about 4 years. His comprehensive grasp of and professionalism on the guitar coupled with my hybrid "never play the song the same way twice" back porch style has produced a unique form of Blues that is both slick and rustic at the same time. You won't want to miss his beautiful and in depth contributions to our repertoire!

Songs for these shows are picked by R.C. for their social diversity, their storyline, and for off-beat human interest usually along the lines of hard times, bad love, double crossings, with little or no redemption.

The one unifying thread that runs through these three types of music is a desire to share the stories of our lives , the adversities, & the good times too. Blues storytelling with guitars, harmonicas., and song and few slugs of pappys corn sqeezins, bath tub gin, or some fine mezcal will definately pass on these tall tales of life, love and labor lost. And remember " Don't let the facts ruin a good story!
