Citizen Science and the Monarch Butterfly - talk

Light traveler! The Monarch Butterfly Danaus plexippus is a pollinating lepidopteran that promotes the genetic diversity of plants. Weighing less than one gram it travels one of the largest migratory crossings: it crosses three countries traveling about 4,500km.

Like every year, it will spend a couple of days in our city and we need citizens with scientific curiosity to help record their passage through the skies of San Miguel. This information is of great help to the conservation programs of this brave traveler. El Charco del Ingenio invites all our friends to this talk to learn more about how to participate in this national monitoring program.

In addition to the talk, we will be at the XESQ Radio San Miguel, on Tuesday, October 10th at 12 a.m. Welcome Monarchs!
