4th Annual San Miguel International Storytelling Festival

Whether your favorite story is true or a fairytale, you can find it or tell it at the Fourth Annual San Miguel International Storytelling Festival!
This year, instead of a two-day competition where all storytellers tell true stories, we will have four separate events with a variety of stories in different locations around San Miguel. Then on October 20 we will present a selection of stories from those events at a Showcase Finale Gala at Bellas Artes.
Each location will feature a different type of story, beginning with a free Open Mic Morning at Tianguis TOSMA Saturday Organic Market on October 7, Stories in Spanish at Mama Mia on October 10, Tall Tales at El Quita Penas on October 11, and True Life Stories at Restaurant Paprika on October 18. Each night will offer eight to twelve stories.
“We wanted to do something different this year,” Storytelling Committee member Nathan Feuerberg explains. “This offers both the storytellers and the audience a chance to hear more types of stories in comfortable, intimate settings. Each of the restaurants has reserved space for about thirty people. “
Food and drink at each restaurant is up to the participant. Mama Mia, however, is graciously providing complimentary appetizers and drinks to the audience of Stories in Spanish.

The annual Storytelling Workshop will take place at the Literary Sala of Bellas Artes on October 14 and 15. The cost is $1,500 pesos for two days. To enroll, please contact Stephanie Medlock at (stephanie91@comcast.net).
