A Year to Live - discussion

“How to live this year as if it were your last”
Led by Val Ward, teacher of Sociology and Psychology in England

First session begins:
Wednesday, July 26th 2017, from 11-1pm, at St Paul’s Church.

At the heart of this discussion group is Stephen Levine’s book, A Year to Live. The author’s aim, and Val Ward’s in leading this course, is to look at what fundamentally matters in our lives, to explore what we need to address before our lives end.

We will discuss matters of unfinished business, the nature of love, forgiveness, gratitude, how we feel about our lives, a life in review, of dying and grieving. What we focus on will be determined by the needs of the group.

The discussion sessions will last 4 weeks, with the possibility of extending the group beyond this timing. Those who attend are encouraged to purchased the book, which can be ordered through St. Paul’s Church in either Kindle or paperback formats for $10.00 USD + shipping.

Val Ward taught Sociology and Psychology at university level in England before moving into private psychotherapy practice. She has facilitated a variety of groups led by herself and a priest for the Church of England, for both seminary students and members of the public. She is daily approaching the end of her own life - who isn't ?!!! - and finds sharing that process with others to be of very great value.

This will be a meaningful and exciting opportunity for all who attend.
