Patricia Quintana Oliver

Patricia Quintana Oliver is an accomplished painter and illustrator who has exhibited at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City, throughout Mexico, Europe, and South America. She has taught at the NWL Juriquilla School, as professor of figure drawing and illustration techniques at Universidad Mesoamericana, San Juan del Rio, Querétaro and Professor of Perspective, Watercolor, Oil and Color Techniques at Instituto Teresa de Avila in Mexico City.

She is new to the Bordello Galería but not new to San Miguel or the fine arts scene. Previously, she illustrated selections of Mexican Art in table top books commissioned by Coca Cola Mexico, Roche Pharmaceutical, 3-M, and the Government of Guanajuato. The subjects of these books include Milagros, History of Medicine, and Mexican History. The book on medicine in Mexico was the winner of the National Graphics award (PNAG). These have never been offered to the public, but the books, original stone etchings, prints and numbered prints will be a part of this exhibit.

The stone etchings of Mexican history and architecture are various sizes in black, grey and sepia. Some depict life as it was lived in the past.

Ms Quintana, in addition to her interest in Mexico and Mexican History has a passion for animals. Her animal paintings are fully textured and colorful. Paintings and giclée prints from her upcoming book "Endangered Animals Cartography", featuring endangered animals from around the world can be seen for the first time. The armadillo which is pictured in this article is one of them and you can detect whimsy. Her paintings are usually painted using oils or acrylics.

Her most recent success was a series of 61 original paintings for a book "Nachtzwaluw, eden, delicias e inferno" written by Rodrigo Barra Villalon, and published in Chile in 2022. Her formal training with a BA in Plastic Arts was at Autonomous University of Querétaro. She had additional training in Architecture and Interior Design at the Instituto Teresa de Avila in Mexico City and watercolor at Chapultepec, Mexico City.

Ms Quintana is represented at the Galeria Los Laureles, Querétaro, Tequis Art, Tequisquiapan and The Monat Gallery in Madrid, Spain.

Please join us this Saturday or Sunday at the BORDELLO GALERÍA,
located at Organos #19, in the public rooms of Casa de la Noche,
½ block off Hernandez Macias to meet Patricia and enjoy her works.
