The 2022 MyStudio Art Walk is happening Saturday and Sunday, July 16th and 17th in Colonia San Antonio. Nearly 50 studios will be welcoming the public from 11 am to 5 pm on both days. This is a rare chance to go ‘behind the scenes' to view the art and workspaces of some of the talented artists that make Colonia San Antonio such an active and vibrant global art scene. Bring your wallet, as there will be plenty of artwork for sale.
The event is organized with a walkable route starting and ending near the Instituto Allende. The event map shows the individual artist's studios as well as a series of SAM locations (San Antonio Murales). Additionally, local Mexican artists will have work on display at the Instituto Allende.
"I am very pleased to invite San Miguel to our MyStudio Art Walk that not only celebrates artistic diversity but benefits two wonderful organizations through donations and art workshops," says Zara Fernandez, Co-organizer of the event.
SAM Director and Co-organizer Peter A. Davis adds, "This well-known event keeps our artists/community connected, and this year, we're excited to debut a new series of street murals for the people of the Colonia to enjoy."
This San Antonio event would not be complete without kick-off and wrap-up parties:
THURSDAY, July 14th, 4-8 pm is a "Meet the Artists" event at El Faro
SUNDAY, July 17th, 5-9 pm is a bash to end the weekend – with a silent art auction and live jazz music at Cafe Lula. Proceeds from the auction benefit Escuela de Educacion Especial and Casa Hogar Corazon Valiente.
