Minnesota Poets Weave Poetic Voices
by Lee Harris

Poets from the Minneapolis, Minnesota area will collaborate with a special reading of their poetry for the San Miguel Poetry Cafe online on December 7.

Kathleen Wedl, Paula Reed Nancarrow, and Lee C. Thomas will weave together their poetic voices, rather than the traditional turn-taking of individual poets of many poetry readings. The Zoom program will be hosted by Beth Spencer.

Paula Reed Nancarrow is a poet and storyteller living in Minnesota. Paula has told stories at the Minnesota Fringe Festival and the Moth Grand Slam at the Fitzgerald Theater in Saint Paul. Her poetry has appeared in a variety of online journals, as well as in Sixfold (where she won the Winter 2020 poetry prize), in Artemis, and in Whistling Shade Literary Journal.  Work is forthcoming in Martin Lake Journal and Permafrost. A list of poems with links to online material can be found at paulareednancarrow.com .

Kathleen Wedl has enjoyed a career in health care, and increasingly sees poetry as a vital channel to shared vision and understanding.  Look for her work in recent editions of *82 Review, High Shelf Press, and South 85 Journal. She is a first-place winner in the League of MN Annual Poetry Contest and was selected for the 2021 year-long poetry mentorship at the Loft Literary Center. When she is not reading, writing, or enjoying nature, you may find her studying perfect pairings of food and music, made more delicious with a blend of family and friends.

Lee C. Thomas is a poet, communications consultant, and university instructor. He is the author of Honey in the Dark, which won the 2020 Brighthorse Prize for poetry. Lee's poems have appeared in Poet Lore, Water~Stone Review, Narrative Magazine, and various other journals, and some are also on his website www.leecolinthomas.com .

The San Miguel Poetry Café is an all-volunteer organization that presents poetry readings by both emerging and established poets worldwide, through the month of March in the current season, and is part of the San Miguel Literary Sala.
