Happy Hour Travel Book Club

We launched our first Travel Book Club meetup which was a lively discussion.

I will send out new invitations and a one week reminder but the login info will be the same. If the group becomes too large we will split in two and have a mid month grupo.

I mean don’t you really miss travelling? This is the next best thing, reading travel books, watching travel movies or NetFlix series and hanging out even on Zoom with other travellers! Perhaps in the future we will be able to meet f2f at Hanks to discuss that Pullitzer Prize winning ‘A Confederacy of Dunces by NOLA author, John Kennedy Toole.

Upcoming travel book categories ( in no particular order except October) may include

Books about Dia de Muertos including one by local author, Joseph Noone who will make a guest appearance Travel Books with Film Adaptations, good, bad or neutral Travel Books set in each of 3 Great American Cities, New York, New Orleans and San Francisco ( according to playright Tennessee Williams. He said everywhere else is Cleveland.)

Trippy Travel Books like ‘Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas’ by Hunter S Thompson and ‘The Electiric Kool Acid Test’ by Tom Wolfe Road Trip Books Personal Pilgrimage Travel Books a la ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ but better!

Evita Aficionados? Books set in Argentina

Foodies! A Moveable Feast ( Lonely Planet Travel Literature) 38 course feast of true tales set around the world!
Margaret Mead Month
Train Travel Books
Ocean Voyages
The Kindness Diaries by Leon Logothetis
