Wanna see two guys fight to the death?

Not your thing?

I'm not surprised.

I know MY stomach turns when I so much as nick my thumb on a cheese grater. Fighting to the death for sport? *ugh!*

But you know history well enough...

Not TOO long ago—and not too far away—gladiating was all the rage.

So was institutional slavery, of course. And infanticide.

And forget any talk of social responsibility... poor people in ancient Rome or Greece were just "meant to be beggars."

Yet here YOU are, a well-mannered, life-respecting, charity-giving, values-packed, model citizen.

Can you imagine supporting murder-for-sport in 2019? ("Hey, last night's match was a blast! Glady-A literally killed it!")

So, what changed?

When exactly did society's core values shift? And how?

Spoiler alert: it wasn't by gladiating our way to enlightenment.

Nope. For many of society's most cherished values, the big shift comes down to one word: Judaism.

From the concept of a guiding purpose to values like equality, individuality and work/life balance, there's a clear and beautiful path back to a Torah source.

Why is this so significant?

Because revisiting what these values replaced is a refreshing reminder of how far we've come...

Retracing how Jewish values have gone mainstream is a powerful guide to sharing more of our transformative values with the world today...

You've read enough angry tweets about "Jewish influence." It's high time we take pride in the kind of ongoing influence we're actually responsible for!

These are some of the takeaways you can expect from our upcoming JLI course. Join us for:

Judaism's Gifts to the World: How major Jewish ideas evolved into universal values
