Otomí experience, ceremonial tortillas

We will share a day with the Otomí teacher Consuelito Venancio. She will teach us the traditions and tell us the origin of ceremonial tortillas, beautiful decorated tortillas used in Otomi parties. You will also have the opportunity to prepare your own tortillas. Consuelito awaits us with a delicious three-course meal. Traditional Otomi food with endemic elements such as nopales and Creole tomatoes. A totally organic meal.

The experience will begin at a meeting point in San Miguel de Allende, where we will board the van that will transport us. First we will visit the Dr. Mora museum in Comonfort, where we will know the different pre-Hispanic cultures that inhabited this area, we will take a brief tour of the main garden. We will all return to the truck that will take us to the town of Consuelito.

Consuelito Venancio will teach us to make natural paintings. Based on flowers, herbs and minerals and we will paint a cushion (batik).

You will receive your red cloth for the ceremony of tortillas and Otomi food. In the end, Consuelito will give you a traditional otomi amulet.

After the ceremony and lunch, we will travel again to San Miguel to the starting point.

The whole experience has a cost of 1000 pesos that includes:

Compartiremos un día con la maestra otomí Consuelito Venancio. Ella nos enseñará las tradiciones y nos dirá el origen de las tortillas ceremoniales, hermosas tortillas decoradas utilizadas en fiestas otomíes. También tendrás la oportunidad de preparar tus propias tortillas. Consuelito nos espera con una deliciosa comida de tres platos. Comida otomí tradicional con elementos endémicos como nopales y tomates criollos. Una comida totalmente orgánica.

La experiencia comenzará en un punto de encuentro en San Miguel de Allende, donde abordaremos la camioneta que nos transportará. Primero visitaremos el museo Dr. Mora en Comonfort, donde conoceremos las diferentes culturas prehispánicas que habitaron esta área, haremos un breve recorrido por el jardín principal. Todos volveremos al camión que nos llevará al pueblo de Consuelito.

Consuelito Venancio nos enseñará a hacer pinturas naturales. A base de flores, hierbas y minerales y pintaremos un cojín (batik).

Recibirá su paño rojo para la ceremonia de tortillas y comida otomí. Al final, Consuelito te dará un amuleto otomi tradicional.

Después de la ceremonia y el almuerzo, viajaremos nuevamente a San Miguel hasta el punto de partida.

Toda la experiencia tiene un costo de 1000 pesos que incluye:
