Anam Cara or Celtic for ‘Soul Friends’, is a new musical venture in San Miguel. The band, featuring Catherine Bryne, Marc Taylor, Jordan Beslow and Larry Dworksy, is known locally for reinterpreting songs from the 60s and 70s as well as traditional folk tunes in updated arrangements. Their repertoire draws from Crosby, Still and Nash, John Prine, Woody Guthry, Cat Stevens, Gillian Welsh, Peggy Lee, Bob Dylan and many others. Aside from such classics though, they also toss an Irish lilt or two into songs from the American folk music canon. It’s a lively evening of good music and new friends!
