Enjoy the most important national paella contest in San Miguel de Allende, Azafrán Festival of Paella and Vendimia, at Hacienda San José Lavista.
On July 27 the Hacienda ‘San José la Vista’ presents the Paella and Wine Festival, where 600 guests are expected to attend.
Diners will be able to enjoy wine tasting, gourmet gastronomic shows, distillates, sample of artisan beers, tasting the paellas.
The event presents the ‘Paella Making Contest’ involving 30 chefs and restaurants who will compete for a Gourmet Tour to Spain.
Azafrán is the fusion of creativity, enthusiasm, knowledge and good taste in the art of gastronomy.
Our great event is based on a national paella making contest. The chefs and restaurants that have the characteristics and quality to participate in this contest will be meticulously chosen.
A select group of judges, who are great personalities in gastronomy, will be responsible for making this selection.
Within the jury are recognized chefs, culinary journalists, opinion leaders in the industry and specialists in gastronomy and culinary criticism, as well as personalities of the tourist government.
Azafrán is not just a contest, it is a complete culinary experience.
The event, in its first edition, will take place in the state of Guanajuato, specifically in San Miguel de Allende, the cradle of great histories of our country and a wide gastronomic and wine culture.
The location will be the important hacienda of San José la Vista, a beautiful hacienda that has a large vineyard, which highlights the production of national wine such as Primer la Vista, Segundo la Vista and Encrucijada.
In addition to the beautiful scenery, it has first class facilities, hotel service, gardens, a large lake and an important chapel, without underestimating its wine cellar, the stables and the pool.
It is a great stage for such an ambitious project.

Dentro del jurado se encuentran reconocidos chefs, periodistas culinarios, líderes de opinión de la industria y especialistas en gastronomía y crítica culinaria, así como personalidades del gobierno turístico.
Azafrán no es solo un concurso, es una experiencia culinaria completa.
El evento, en su primera edición, tendrá lugar en el estado de Guanajuato, específicamente en San Miguel de Allende, la cuna de las grandes historias de nuestro país y una amplia cultura gastronómica y vinícola.
La ubicación será la importante hacienda de San José la Vista, una hermosa hacienda que tiene un gran viñedo, que destaca la producción de vinos nacionales como Primer la Vista, Segundo la Vista y Encrucijada.
Además del hermoso paisaje, cuenta con instalaciones de primera clase, servicio de hotel, jardines, un gran lago y una importante capilla, sin subestimar su bodega, los establos y la piscina.
Es un gran escenario para un proyecto tan ambicioso.
