Continental Blues Band | Shelter Theater

Tom Driscoll and Dave Bingham have been rocking San Miguel since 2014. In 2017 they teamed up with The Chuy Sanchez Trio to form The Continental Blues Band. The blues brothers will rock the rafters of Shelter Theater Friday, January 18th at 7 pm. Tickets for all shows available at Biblioteca gift shop “Tesoros” and online at www.sheltervg4.com.We recently interviewed Tom Driscoll about their upcoming concert:

Shelter: How did you guys meet?
Tom: I met Dave Bingham while I was performing at the Little House of Blues with the harmonica player George McConkey. When Dave moved to San Miguel full time he began sitting in with Chuey's band which led to our current collaboration. Both Dave and Chuey have long performance histories, Dave in Canada with many bands and Chuy here in Mexico.

Shelter: What is your motivation for bringing this show to San Miguel audiences?
Tom: Motivation is an interesting concept and I suppose we each have our own motivations, but what we all share is a love of music and a desire to create new music and perform that music for a live audience. I've always thought that live music, in addition to being a creative expression for the performers, serves a social purpose in bringing people together.

Shelter: What is the most important thing about your music?
Tom: I would have to say that the most important thing about our music is personal creativity. Chuey, Dave and I are all songwriters, and that is the most satisfying aspect of what we do. Of course we enjoy performing covers too, and there are so many great songs to choose from, but there is a special pleasure in working on a song idea and shaping it into its final form and then presenting it to an appreciative audience.
