Church Tour Patronato Pro Niños

Art History expert, George Tacik, will be leading this highly recommended Church Tour gathering at 9:45 am for a 10:00 am departure. The tour lasts 2 1/2 hours. No reservations are needed, but group size may be limited. Participants will be sitting in the pews about half of the time, so there is less walking than on the Historical Tour. In addition to the history of the four downtown churches that we visit (San Rafael, The Parroquia, San Francisco, and Nuestro de Salud), the tour commentary includes fascinating stories about the origin of many little known and often unmarked images in these churches. The focus of the tour is on the history of the buildings and art inside, not on religion.
