The 22nd edition of the French Film Tour arrives in San Miguel de Allende!
Seven French films accompanied by 17 Mexican short films make up the 2018 edition.
The French Film Tour is an itinerant exhibition that presents the best selection of contemporary French cinema.
The films that make up this 22nd edition of the Tour include the melodrama CARA DE ÁNGEL (Gueule d’ange, 2018) by filmmaker Vanessa Filho, starring Marion Cotillard who plays Marlène, a young and impetuous woman who lives with Elli, her daughter of eight years, which decides to leave suddenly by a man who knows during a night of excess. Elli will then have to fend for herself to survive. A moving story about the truncated relationship between a mother and her daughter.
The pair formed by the filmmaker Laurent Tirard and the actor Jean Dujardin return to make an appearance (this time accompanied by the actress Mélanie Laurent) with the comedy THE RETURN OF THE HERO (Le retour du héros, 2018), which takes place in the France of the early nineteenth century and focuses on Captain Neuville who is called to fight in the front, leaving behind his fiancee with a broken heart. Elisabeth, her sister, decides to alleviate her grief by secretly writing letters to the Captain creating an operetta character. The situation gets complicated when he returns unexpectedly.
From the hand of the filmmaker Édouard Deluc we approach the figure of the painter Paul Gauguin through the biographical film GAUGUIN, TRAVEL TO TAHITÍ (Gauguin – Voyage de Tahiti, 2017), which focuses on the moment in which the artist, In search of new motivations and scenarios for his painting, he decides to go into exile in Tahiti and thus move away from the moral, political and aesthetic codes of civilized Europe. Absorbed in his life as a free man and defying loneliness, poverty and disease, he meets Tehura, who would become his wife and model of his best pictures. Gauguin is played by the well-known actor Vincent Cassel.
Cassel also participates in the suspense film WITHOUT TRACKS (Fleuve noir, 2018) by Erick Zonca, next to Romain Duris and Sandrine Kiberlain, playing the commander François Visconti, a tormented policeman with alcohol problems, who is in charge of the case of a teenager who disappeared without a trace. During the investigation, Visconti is confronted with Yan Bellaile, a teacher of the missing child who lives in the same building and is strangely eager to help in the investigation.
Another filmmaker who returns to participate in the Tour is Philippe Le Guay with NORMANDY TO THE NUDE (Normandie nue, 2018). The film is about a small town in that region of France where farmers are in crisis. Georges Balbuzard, the charismatic mayor of the community, assumes the mission of saving them. To do this, he will try to convince the villagers to pose nude before the camera of the famous American photographer Blake Newman, who coincidentally is in the place, something that will not be easy to achieve.
Actor Franck Dubosc writes and directs his first feature film RODANDO HACIA TI (Tout le monde debout, 2018), a comedy in which he plays Jocelyn, a successful businessman, an incorrigible conqueror and a pathological liar. Fed up with himself, he tries to seduce a beautiful young woman by posing as a paraplegic, but his plan will take an unexpected turn when it presents his sister Florence who uses a wheelchair.
Stéphan Archinard and François Prévôt – Leygonie direct SABELOTODO (Monsieur je – sais – tout, 2018) in which the main character is Vincent Barteau, a 35 – year – old soccer coach who enjoys his work and especially his work. his singleness His daily life is turned upside down when he has to take care of his nephew Léo, a 13-year-old boy who has Asperger’s syndrome. An emotional encounter that will alter the lives of both characters offering new opportunities in life.

¡La edición número 22 del Tour de Cine Francés llega a San Miguel de Allende!
Siete películas francesas acompañadas de 17 cortometrajes mexicanos conforman la edición 2018.
El Tour de Cine Francés es una muestra itinerante que presenta la mejor selección de cine francés contemporáneo.
Las películas que conforman esta 22 edición del Tour incluyen al melodrama CARA DE ÁNGEL (Gueule d’ange, 2018) de la cineasta Vanessa Filho, estelarizado por Marion Cotillard quien da vida a Marlène, una mujer joven e impetuosa que vive con Elli, su hija de ocho años, a la cual decide abandonar de forma repentina por un hombre al que conoce durante una noche de excesos. Elli deberá entonces valerse por sí misma para sobrevivir. Una historia conmovedora sobre la relación truncada entre una madre y su hija.
La dupla conformada por el cineasta Laurent Tirard y el actor Jean Dujardin vuelven a hacer acto de presencia (esta vez acompañándose de la actriz Mélanie Laurent) con la comedia EL REGRESO DEL HÉROE (Le retour du héros, 2018), la cual transcurre en la Francia de principios del siglo XIX y se centra en el capitán Neuville quien es llamado a luchar en el frente, dejando atrás a su prometida con el corazón roto. Elisabeth, su hermana, decide aliviar su pena escribiéndole secretamente cartas a nombre del Capitán creando un personaje de opereta. La situación se complica cuando él regresa inesperadamente.
De la mano del cineasta Édouard Deluc nos acercamos a la figura del pintor Paul Gauguin a través de la cinta biográfica GAUGUIN, VIAJE A TAHITÍ (Gauguin -‐ Voyage de Tahiti, 2017), la cual se enfoca en el momento en que el artista, en busca nuevas motivaciones y escenarios para su pintura, decide exiliarse en Tahití y alejarse así de los códigos morales, políticos y estéticos de la Europa civilizada. Absorto en su vida de hombre libre y desafiando a la soledad, la pobreza y la enfermedad, conoce a Tehura, quien se convertiría en su mujer y modelo de sus mejores cuadros. Gauguin es interpretado por el reconocido actor Vincent Cassel.
Cassel también participa en el filme de suspenso SIN DEJAR HUELLAS (Fleuve noir, 2018) de Erick Zonca, al lado de Romain Duris y Sandrine Kiberlain, encarnando al comandante François Visconti, un atormentado policía con problemas de alcoholismo, quien está a cargo del caso de un adolescente que desapareció sin dejar rastro alguno. Durante la investigación, Visconti se enfrenta con Yan Bellaile, un maestro del niño desaparecido que vive en el mismo edificio y se muestra extrañamente ansioso por ayudar en la investigación.
Otro cineasta que vuelve a participar en el Tour es Philippe Le Guay con NORMANDÍA AL DESNUDO (Normandie nue, 2018). El filme trata sobre un pequeño pueblo de esa región de Francia en la que los ganaderos están en crisis. Georges Balbuzard, el carismático alcalde de la comunidad, asume la misión de salvarlos. Para ello, tratará de convencer a los habitantes del pueblo de posar desnudos ante la cámara del famoso fotógrafo norteamericano Blake Newman, quien por casualidad se encuentra en el lugar, algo que no será fácil de conseguir.
El actor Franck Dubosc escribe y dirige su primer largometraje RODANDO HACIA TI (Tout le monde debout, 2018), comedia en la cual encarna a Jocelyn, un exitoso hombre de negocios, un conquistador incorregible y un mentiroso patológico. Harto de sí mismo, intenta seducir a una hermosa joven haciéndose pasar por parapléjico, pero su plan dará un giro inesperado cuando ésta le presente a su hermana Florence quien utiliza una silla de ruedas.
Stéphan Archinard y François Prévôt-‐Leygonie dirigen SEÑOR SABELOTODO (Monsieur je-‐sais-‐tout, 2018) en la que el personaje central es Vincent Barteau, un entrenador de fútbol de 35 años que disfruta plenamente de su trabajo y sobre todo de su soltería. Su vida cotidiana da un vuelco cuando tiene que encargarse de su sobrino Léo, un niño de 13 años que tiene síndrome de Asperger. Un emotivo encuentro que alterará la vida de ambos personajes ofreciéndoles nuevas oportunidades en la vida.
