Something amazing is happening in San Miguel! The premier jazz musicians have formed the San Miguel de Allende Jazz Alliance to present a unified front to the SMA jazz afficionado.

Jazz guitarist Jaime Valle actualized the SMA Jazz Alliance concept in San Miguel, derived from his numerous and successful collaborations with similar organizations globally. The mission of the SMA Jazz Alliance is to promote the music through concerts, festivals, clinics, and master classes, while sharing expenses, in order to keep the events as affordable as possible for the musicians, students, and the audience.

The SMA Jazz Alliance includes not only players who earn their living playing jazz in San Miguel and around Mexico, but also those who play part-time or give clinics and simply love the music. The charter members include Salomon Maawad, Douglas Robinson, Bobby Kaplan, Gabriel Hernandez, Gil Gutierrez, Jaime Valle, Victor Monterrubio, Patricio Peña, Julian Arcos, Eli Doney, Sergio Carrillo, Jose Luis “Hopalong” Chagoyan, Rodrigo Velazquez, Juan Jose CV, Paul Covervour, Lady Zen, Maria Sanchez Lozano, Ruben Olvera, Adrian Flores, Diego Flores, Alejandro Contreras, Papacho Sirdey, Dennis Unsworth, Rolando Gotes, Pepe Gaytan, Francisco Lelo de la Rea, Armando Servin, Paco Servin, and David Barrera.

To officially kick off this new concept, the SMA Jazz Alliance will present its premiere concert at the Teatro Angela Peralta on Thursday, October 24 at 6:30 PM featuring the Gabriel Hernandez Trio, Jaime Valle Trio, Salomon Maawad Quartet, and Adrian Flores Quarteto.
