Alfredo Muro, Journey Through the Strings - concert

Don't miss the magic on Thursday August 23rd at 7 pm, when Fundación CEM A.C. (Casa Europa Mexico) presents the concert "Alfredo Muro: Journey Through the Strings". The program features pieces by Celedonio Romero, Ernesto Nazareth, Astor Piazzolla, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Baden Powell, Bach and other influential composers.

Muro's virtuosity spans many eras and musical traditions, but he is especially noted for his sophisticated interpretations of the modern Latin guitar repertoire. Born in Peru, Muro began learning by himself guitar at the age of nine and won a national prize three years later. Throughout the time, he has given concerts all over the Americas, as well as in Europe and Asia. He was the featured artist at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. for the Millennium Center Series in 2007. He also performed around a special audience for the late Pope John Paul II at the Vatican. Muro is a gifted arranger and composer. He has even released many CD recordings of his own besides other artists' works.

Bringing more than a strong technical talent to the stage, Alfredo Muro is undoubtedly a virtuoso of classical guitar. His performances are ethereal and deeply felt, thanks to the love coupled with his great sensibility with which he chooses and plays his songs. He has the rare ability of enabling the audience to rise above their own experience and share his own. While this is evident in his many recordings, it is during his live concerts where you can feel it the strongest.
