The Better Halves - concert

The Better Halves are an Austin-based husband and wife duo reminiscent of June Carter and Johnny Cash. Jimmy Joe and Chrissie have been a staple at one of Austin’s largest venues for over a decade, where their funny and touching duets, using clever lyrics and real boy-girl banter, uplift audiences with laughter and knowing nods.

‘Jimmy Joe’ has a terrific talent for storytelling (one of his “car songs” was featured on NPR’s “Car Talk) while wife Chrissie’s whimsical, melodic songwriting earned her a spot on Garrison Keillor's “A Prairie Home Companion.” Playing rousing Chet Atkins-influenced instrumentals (including one featuring 4 hands on 1 guitar), they really know how to wow audiences. “Their guitar harmonies are amazing, their vocals blend so well together, and their lyrics are so thoughtfully put together. The Better Halves’ songs just make me happy,” raves Les from Houston. We think you’ll agree!

Tickets are available at the Biblioteca and online at for this winter’s feel-good live concert with The Better Halves Saturday, February 17th at 7 pm.
