Here comes the important Anniversary Celebration of the Ballet Folklorico de SMA!
On July 25th, 2024, we will be celebrating the 49th anniversary of the founding of the Ballet! Remarkable that they are still alive and well… mostly thanks to their remarkable founder: la Maestra Gloria Navarrete, my great friend in SMA. and considering that the local government has been less than generous!
Tickets are available at the Angela Peralta Theater box office.
The Company now has 55 dancers in 4 groups, and we are especially happy that several young men joined recently. All groups have been learning new dances for the event, and we are already thinking of the 50th Anniversary next year!, We want to make it a city wide event!
If you are in San Miguel now I hope we will see you at the event in a few days… If not, I hope you will be able to see the shows we will be having at Casa Europa for the Day of the Dead and for the Candelaria early February.
Meanwhile, if you can, please consider making a donation. We just contributed to the purchase of 12 costumes for a new traditional men’s dance…. and the “Amigos” help is very much appreciated.

¡Llega la importante Celebración del Aniversario del Ballet Folklórico de SMA!
¡El 25 de julio de 2024 celebraremos el 49 aniversario de la fundación del Ballet! ¡Notable que todavía están vivos y bien... sobre todo gracias a su fundadora notable: la Maestra Gloria Navarrete, mi gran amiga en SMA y teniendo en cuenta que el gobierno local ha sido menos que generoso!
Las entradas están disponibles en la taquilla del Teatro Ángela Peralta.
La Compañía tiene ahora 55 bailarines en 4 grupos, y estamos especialmente contentos de que varios hombres jóvenes se unieron recientemente. Todos los grupos han estado aprendiendo nuevas danzas para el evento, y ya estamos pensando en el 50 Aniversario del próximo año, ¡Queremos que sea un evento para toda la ciudad!
Si estás en San Miguel ahora espero que nos veamos en el evento en unos días... Si no, espero que puedas ver los espectáculos que tendremos en Casa Europa para el Día de los Muertos y para la Candelaria a principios de febrero.
