On September 14, the historic Plaza de Toros Oriente will witness one of the most anticipated bullfights of the year: the Corrida de la Independencia, as part of the Fiestas Patrias.
With the support of José Luis Alatorre’s Feria Toro company and the coordination of Ruedo Tres, a first-class line-up has been put together that promises to thrill bullfighting fans.
At 5 pm the paseíllo will be headed by three great bullfighting figures: Arturo Saldívar, Diego Silveti and the young talent Francisco Martínez, who will face bulls from the renowned Torreón de Cañas cattle ranch.
A bull run that will undoubtedly test the skill and courage of the bullfighters, guaranteeing an afternoon full of emotion and art.
José Luis Alatorre, organizer of the event, emphasized that San Miguel de Allende has been and will continue to be a key place in the national bullfighting calendar.
“The city is known for having four bullfights a year, but we know it has more. The Corrida de la Independencia is a very special date, it falls on a Saturday, and we want to take advantage of the tourist atmosphere to give it that Mexican touch with mariachi, so that the fans can enjoy an unforgettable celebration,” said Alatorre.
The presence of Arturo Saldivar, with his temper and courage, added to the dedication and technique of Diego Silveti, without forgetting the young passion of Francisco Martinez, will ensure an afternoon that will remain in the memory of all the fans. The show and professionalism are guaranteed, and even more so in such an emblematic plaza as the one in San Miguel de Allende.

Children under 12 years old will be able to enjoy the show for free in the general area, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

El 14 de septiembre, la histórica Plaza de Toros Oriente será testigo de una de las corridas más esperadas del año: la Corrida de la Independencia, en el marco de las Fiestas Patrias.
Con el apoyo de la empresa Feria Toro de José Luis Alatorre y la coordinación de Ruedo Tres, se ha confeccionado un cartel de primer nivel que promete hacer vibrar a los aficionados taurinos.
A las 5pm el paseíllo estará encabezado por tres grandes figuras del toreo: Arturo Saldívar, Diego Silveti y la joven promesa Francisco Martínez, que se enfrentarán a toros de la reconocida ganadería Torreón de Cañas.
Un encierro que sin duda pondrá a prueba la destreza y valentía de los toreros, garantizando una tarde llena de emoción y arte.
José Luis Alatorre, organizador del evento, destacó que San Miguel de Allende ha sido y seguirá siendo un lugar clave en el calendario taurino nacional.
«La ciudad es conocida por tener cuatro corridas al año, pero sabemos que tiene más. La Corrida de la Independencia es una fecha muy especial, cae en sábado, y queremos aprovechar el ambiente turístico para darle ese toque mexicano con mariachi, para que la afición disfrute de un festejo inolvidable», dijo Alatorre.
La presencia de Arturo Saldívar, con su temple y coraje, sumado a la entrega y técnica de Diego Silveti, sin olvidar la joven pasión de Francisco Martínez, asegurarán una tarde que quedará en la memoria de todos los aficionados.
