A Grassroots Beginning

Founding members Eva Eliscu, Rhonda Lerner, Ruth Milikin and Kirsten West, four ladies from four different places in the world met at La Biblioteca in 2015 during Eva's lecture on the History of the Dining Table. During an afternoon coffee at Santa Ana Cafe, the idea of a Food and Film festival was born. With a shared interest in food, film and involvements in various business backgrounds. Gail Isaacs joined us as a volunteer in 2024 and is now moving into the role of director working hand in hand with Eva Eliscu.

The first ever Food in Film Festival was held in 2016; though there were no plans to create a yearly festival, the positive reception from attendees propelled the evolution of the Food In Film Festival (FIFF) into yearly festival currently on its tenth year.

The Food In Film Festival celebrates the juxtaposition of culinary and cinematic expression by screening food-related films along with catered events sponsored by highly-rated local chefs/restaurants. Sign up for our mailing list:
