Two prominent San Miguel art galleries are joining forces in in a spacious new downtown location at Zacateros 4. The new space is called Galeria Ortiz-Blue Moon, and is opening with a public reception on Friday, April 26, from 5 to 8 pm. This will be an additional space for Blue Moon artists; Galeria Blue Moon will continue as usual in its space on Stirling Dickinson #7, San Antonio. They will share the new space with the well-known painter Ricardo Ortiz. The eight Blue Moon artists are photographic artists Ri Anderson and Atonatiuh Bracho (a new member), sculptor Vito Ascencio, painters Andrew Klein, Ray Leguizamo, Debra Deutsch Oliver, Elvia Samaniego, Henry Vermillion, and Ernesti Zeivy.
The new space is the one occupied for several years by the “Girasol” dress shop, which has moved to a different location.
