Each attendee will be given a name tag with 3 numbers on it. After collecting your welcome drink, you will sit at the first table number listed on your name tag. So, chances are that you won’t be sitting with the person you arrive with. Your table assignment will then change 2 more times during the evening. Think of it as group speed dating… without the dating part.
We did this same fundraiser back in April and many of the attendees had “concerns” about the musical tables format before the event began. However, by the end of the fundraiser, most participants asked us when we were planning to do it again. And we even had one attendee who never sat at any of the tables he was assigned and just sat with his buds. No worries, we didn’t lock him in a dog crate. We only do that upon request.
It really is a great way to chat with people you might not otherwise meet. Or catch up with someone you haven’t seen in a while. I promise that it will be a very warm and social crowd. If you have ever been to one of the monthly t-dance events, then you will definitely recognize some of the same people. And you can always reunite with your friends at the end of the event.
In the end, it’s about raising money to help the dogs (and cats) out at Contol Canino (SMA’s kill shelter).

A cada asistente se le entregará una etiqueta con el nombre y 3 números. Después de recoger tu bebida de bienvenida, te sentarás en la primera mesa cuyo número aparece en tu etiqueta. Así que, probablemente no te sentarás con la persona con la que llegaste. Tu mesa asignada luego cambiará 2 veces más durante la velada. Piénsalo como una especie de speed-dating grupal… pero sin la parte de citas.
Hicimos este mismo evento de recaudación en abril y muchos de los asistentes tenían “preocupaciones” sobre el formato de mesas musicales antes de que comenzara el evento. Sin embargo, al final, la mayoría nos preguntó cuándo planeábamos hacerlo de nuevo. Y hasta tuvimos a un participante que nunca se sentó en las mesas que le asignaron y solo se quedó con sus amigos. No te preocupes, no lo encerramos en una jaula para perros. Solo lo hacemos por petición.
Realmente es una gran manera de platicar con personas que de otro modo no conocerías. O ponerte al día con alguien que no has visto en un tiempo. Te prometo que será un ambiente muy cálido y social. Si has asistido a uno de los eventos mensuales t-dance, definitivamente reconocerás a algunas de las mismas personas. Y siempre puedes reunirte con tus amigos al final del evento.
Al final, se trata de recaudar dinero para ayudar a los perros (y gatos) de Control Canino (el refugio con sacrificio de SMA).
