In Honor of Mexican Flag Day: Icons of the Mexican Flag

Please join us in celebrating Mexican Flag Day. David Black, who has been living in Mexico for 23 years, and is a student of Mexican history and culture, will tell us about iconography and its uses within the Mexican Flag. The presentation will include the Mexican National Emblem (the snake, the eagle, the cactus, and the Virgen of Guadalupe.

David gave a fascinating presentation about the history of ‘La Catrina’ as a Mexican Cultural Icon, and has given presentations at the Bibioteca.
