Since the day Michael Hoppe and his wife Monica arrived in San Miguel de Allende in 2014 from Portland, Oregon, they heartily embraced the local art scene. The warm sunshine and vivid blue sky seems to untangle Michael’s creative threads. Suddenly, at his Steinway piano, out of thin air he pulls worldly new songs and albums. (over 30 million Spotify downloads).
In 2015, through a mutual friend, artist and Olympic skater the late Toller Cranston, Michael Hoppe’ met the Children’s Art Foundation founder, Hannah McCurley, and the most high-profile annual benefit concert by Michael Hoppe’ in San Miguel was born.
Simultaneously his generosity supports “a great cause”, the Children’s Art Foundation; showcases his creative talents with latest work and mentors local musicians. This year premieres “Together” concert, a runaway hit with a heartfelt message. Michael promotes and mentors many young local Mexican musicians and singers, such as Axel Caporal and Emiliano Cadena who will perform in the TOGETHER concert on March 5th. Ten years of hard work and challenges have been rewarded with joyful moments and heartwarming success. The 2025 Michael Hoppe’ concert is expected, once again to fill San Miguel’s beloved Teatro Angela Peralta in “the best small city in the world”. This concert promises Michael’s newest and best works, with great passion, great talents by the great composer and his group.
