Miztitlan Fusion Band began as an Afro rhythm workshop in 2010 at Kuni Doni, a lively gathering place organized by the Mancera brothers, where musicians and music lovers gathered for nights filled with drumming, dancing and jam sessions. Over the years, the band’s musicians have traveled to Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Colombia, Europe and various regions of Mexico, absorbing new rhythms and musical influences that have infused fresh energy into their performances. Their next concert, “Rhythm & Roots” at Tres Fuentes on October 20, will mark a reunion of the original members (the Mancera brothers, drummer Víctor Monterrubio and keyboardist Papacho Sirdey) along with the addition of Cuban alto saxophonist Alfred Thompson.

Miztitlán Fusión Band comenzó como un taller de ritmos afro en 2010 en Kuni Doni, un animado lugar de encuentro organizado por los hermanos Mancera, donde músicos y amantes de la música se reunían en noches llenas de tambores, bailes y jam sessions. A lo largo de los años, los músicos de la banda han viajado a África, Brasil, Cuba, Colombia, Europa y varias regiones de México, absorbiendo nuevos ritmos e influencias musicales que han infundido energía fresca a sus actuaciones. Su próximo concierto, «Rhythm & Roots» en Tres Fuentes el 20 de octubre, marcará una reunión de los miembros originales (los hermanos Mancera, el baterista Víctor Monterrubio y el tecladista Papacho Sirdey) junto con la adición del saxofonista alto cubano Alfred Thompson.
