An experimental film that celebrates the poetry, painting and photographs of Nahui Olin, recognizing her artistic and feminist legacy, as well as her love, creativity, and rebellion against social norms in 1920s Mexico.
Melissa (Eme) Eidson is an Adjunct Associate Professor and a documentary filmmaker. She currently teaches The Documentary Image, Literary and Critical Studies, and Eastern European filmmaking with a focus on sound design theory at Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, New York). She is also an independent filmmaker with award-winning documentaries and experimental short films. Last year she won Best Experimental Short Film for AURA at the French Riviera Film Festival. Her new experimental film: Nahui Olin: Vision Cósmica, about one of the first feminists in 1920/30s Mexico City, will be presented at Teatro Santa Ana on August 16th at 6pm.
