Oy, What They Said About Love by Steve Budd.

Best of the 2024 San Francisco Fringe Festival. A 60-minute solo show from one of the Bay Area’s premier solo performers.

Steve Budd wonders why other people can tie the knot and he can’t. Oy, does he wonder!

So he asked a bunch of couples what brought them together and keeps them from pulling apart.

Meet a Jewish couple who met on Craigslist, an interfaith couple who met at a Halloween party, and more. Budd plays close to a dozen characters, using stories taken from hours of interviews, and weaves in his heartfelt and hilarious search for “the one.”

Check out the newest mashup of personal storytelling and documentary theater from an award-winning solo performer who “sparkles with manic and irrepressible charm” (Theatrius).

Steve Budd (playwright, performer). Oakland-based actor, writer, storyteller, standup comic, and solo performer. He has performed with numerous Bay Area theater companies, including the San Francisco Playhouse, Custom Made Theatre Co., New Conservatory Theatre Center, Central Works Theatre Company, Impact Theatre, and Marin Shakespeare Company.

His solo work has been featured at The Marsh, San Francisco Fringe Festival, T.M.I., Busting Out, The Shout, The Vent, and Solo Sundays at Stage Werx Theatre.
