With a march from Juárez Park to the main garden, the San Miguel de Allende 2025 Pride March will take place on July 12th. Various diverse groups in the municipality will participate, highlighting the approximately 4.7% of San Miguel residents who identify as belonging to this community.
Ricardo García Frausto, Undersecretary of Sexual and Gender Diversity, emphasized the importance of the march as an instrument of social struggle, stating that it is only an accompaniment of those truly seeking vindication through their struggle.
He added that it is hoped that families, adolescents, youth, and adults will take the opportunity to participate in an event that seeks to eradicate violence, foster respect among all, and support the struggle of those who have decided to defend their differences, placing first and foremost the richness that diversity represents in society.
Rafael Cabrera of the San Miguel Pride Collective emphasized that this year’s march will seek:
An end to acts of symbolic or physical repression in public spaces
Adequate funding for the unity of municipal diversity
Ongoing awareness-raising training for public officials on the issue
Implementation of inclusive sexuality education
The march will begin at 4:00 p.m. and a large turnout is expected, with artists such as Morgana Love joining in, proud of the inclusion that has been fought for for years in San Miguel de Allende.
