Three Journeys in Non-Objective Art
Exhibition Details: October 28 - November 20

THE ABSTRACT COLLECTIVE (TAC): Three Journeys in Non-Objective Art, brings together three established artists—Alberto Lenz, Gene Johnson, and Ferdinand Rosa—whose work reflects decades of sustained exploration in abstraction and non-objective practice. Living and working in San Miguel de Allende, these artists present a powerful collective statement rooted in experience, discipline, and artistic evolution.

Alberto Lenz —
A Mexican painter and sculptor based in San Miguel de Allende, Lenz works in a colorful, geometric world rooted in Mexico and the land itself. His work blends the rational and mathematical with the intuitive pull of color, space, and rhythm.

Ferdinand Rosa —
For Rosa, art and geometry are interconnected forces. Drawing from mathematics and the landscapes he's traveled, he distills horizons, natural rhythms, and built environments into geometric abstractions where precision and spontaneity coexist — living landscapes in their own right.

Gene Johnson —
Exhibiting since the mid-80s from New York to Havana to São Paulo, Johnson synthesizes geometric abstraction, process painting, and typographic fragments into a visual language all his own. His intense, energetic application of paint — rich patinas, bold hues, and near-monochrome grays — carries a synthesis of emotion, intuition, and history.

THE ABSTRACT COLLECTIVE (TAC) is not simply an exhibition, but the beginning of an annual initiative focused on collaboration, dialogue, and community engagement. Each artist contributes a distinct visual language: from geometric precision and spatial tension to layered surfaces, material-driven processes, and reductive clarity. Together, their work creates a dynamic conversation about perception, structure, and the expressive potential of abstraction.
This inaugural presentation marks the foundation of an ongoing platform—one that celebrates lifelong artistic practice while fostering new connections between artists, audiences, and the broader cultural landscape.
