I’m getting more excited every day about this concert I’m producing, one night only on July 26 at Teatro Angela Peralta at 7pm.

I always try to present something new when I produce a concert, and my goal this time is to shine the spotlight on two truly remarkable groups : the Gabriel Hernandez Trio and the Alfred Thompson Saxophone Project.

There will be guest artists with both groups, including yours truly. In fact I’m super proud to announce that Alfred’s saxophone quintet will be performing the world premier of my original composition “Besos Ocultos” which I have arranged for the group.

We had a great rehearsal yesterday in Queretaro and I’m getting goosebumps just thinking about it. And my piece is only one of several that this tight knit group of talented players is going to perform. The sound of a saxophone quintet is crazy cool – part big band swing, part passionate carnival music. You won’t forget it.

And of course, music lovers here in San Miguel are probably familiar with Gabriel Hernandez, a beastly Cuban piano maestro.

On this evening, joined by his trio and some guest artists, we’re going to hear some of his wonderful original compositions.

It’s open seating, and the tickets will be available at the theater box office starting Friday morning at 10 AM. For me, the best seats are the $600 lunetas, but we’ve also got upper balcony seats for $200, first balcony seats for $400 and the cool box seats on the side for $750.

Thank you so much for supporting the efforts of all these musicians here in San Miguel. You know, our town wins accolades every year, and of course it’s due in part to the natural beauty, the historical significance, the constantly evolving food scene, and the many cultural celebrations— These are all points that visitors rightly mention.

But I’ve never seen a single rave review that did not include our wonderful and diverse music scene here. We’re all proud to play our part in what makes life here in San Miguel De Allende special. And we really couldn’t do it without your support.

Cada día estoy más entusiasmado con este concierto que estoy produciendo, una sola noche el 26 de julio en el Teatro Ángela Peralta a las 7pm.

Siempre trato de presentar algo nuevo cuando produzco un concierto, y mi objetivo esta vez es destacar a dos grupos verdaderamente notables: el Trío Gabriel Hernández y el Alfred Thompson Saxophone Project.

Habrá artistas invitados en ambos grupos, incluido yo mismo. De hecho, estoy superorgulloso de anunciar que el quinteto de saxofones de Alfred interpretará el estreno mundial de mi composición original «Besos Ocultos», que he arreglado para el grupo.

Tuvimos un gran ensayo ayer en Querétaro y se me pone la piel de gallina sólo de pensarlo. Y mi pieza es sólo una de las muchas que va a interpretar este grupo de músicos de gran talento. El sonido de un quinteto de saxofones es genial, en parte swing de gran banda, en parte música de carnaval apasionada. No lo olvidará.

Y, por supuesto, los amantes de la música aquí en San Miguel probablemente estén familiarizados con Gabriel Hernández, un bestial maestro cubano del piano.

Esta noche, acompañado por su trío y algunos artistas invitados, escucharemos algunas de sus maravillosas composiciones originales.

Las entradas estarán disponibles en la taquilla del teatro a partir del viernes a las 10 de la mañana. Para mí, los mejores asientos son las lunetas de $600, pero también tenemos asientos en el balcón superior por $200, asientos en el primer balcón por $400 y los asientos en el palco lateral por $750.

Muchas gracias por apoyar los esfuerzos de todos estos músicos de San Miguel. Nuestra ciudad recibe elogios todos los años y, por supuesto, se debe en parte a su belleza natural, su importancia histórica, su gastronomía en constante evolución y sus numerosas celebraciones culturales.

Pero nunca he visto una sola crítica favorable que no incluya nuestro maravilloso y diverso panorama musical. Todos estamos orgullosos de desempeñar nuestro papel en lo que hace especial la vida aquí en San Miguel de Allende. Y realmente no podríamos hacerlo sin su apoyo.
