Here in my studio working, packing each piece of the new exhibition, a huge feeling overwhelms me. It's a combination of the music I'm listening to and seeing how quickly 50 years of dragging the brushes have passed.

Here, as the Day of the Dead approaches, I miss those who are not in this dimension with me. However, just as those who are here, they will accompany my celebration of life, for the immense pleasure of creating; to transform what I carry inside me into beauty.

It has never matters what my inspirational motive is, the fact is that each piece transforms me, reinvents me, allows me to see that there is always color ahead of the darkest black. No matter how broken a crayon is, it's always capable of painting.

This year of celebrations that is now beginning I honor my roots, my life, my friends and co-religionists; those who have believed in my talent and my ways, in my colors and textures, in my passion; the only one that always accompanies me and comforts me, that makes me see everything that is coming and what is already gone; the one that makes me feel great in spite of everything; and the one that I will always thank God for, the one who for the first time put a brush in my hands.

My eternal thanks to those who have been in front of me, behind me and by my side along the way; to those who have taught me and teach me daily; to those who opened some doors and closed others so that I could grow and change. They all have been and are my teachers.

Art can change a life and therefore it change the world.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the blessings that this brings.
