Small is Big

North and south of the border it is election year. And as important as these national elections are, I'd like to focus a minute on the grassroots.

If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, then the health of society must be measured at its basis, at the level of community.

Resources flow down from government and private donors, but the boots on the ground are small NGOs (non-profits). Small NGOs are the grassroots of change. They best know their community's needs.

The problem is that the small NGOs are small. Committed as they are to resolving a specific need in their community, effective as their organization might be in resolving that need, they often lack other, more administrative know-how.

These valiant social activists may be great at interfacing with the community in need and still experience difficulties navigating the professional non-profit world: the sea of government regulation; the ocean of funding available for their cause; keeping board members motivated, in the flow. It's one thing to provide for the people, your clients, and quite another to keep the "business" end of the NGO sailing along.

That's where Lokkal Foundation comes in, providing professional resources to small NGOs: managing the details; revealing the possibilities; getting the funds; keeping things ship-shape, on-course and full-speed ahead.

Lokkal is a macro-foundation, a big brother or sister, taking care of our smaller siblings.

Your support of Lokkal Foundation makes a big difference to small NGOs. Please, help us help more.
