Sylvia White entered the Los Angeles art scene in 1979 as founder and director of Contemporary Artists' Services, gaining prominence as an innovator in the field of career management for visual artists.
Sylvia launched ArtAdvice.com in 1998, when the internet was in its infancy. Since then, she has represented a cadre of artists, who rely on her wisdom and experience to place their work in galleries and exhibitions.
In a career of more than 40 years, she has had exhibition spaces on both US coasts, including Santa Monica and Ventura, California, which were home to Sylvia White Gallery, established in 2008. She expanded her services to collectors interested in obtaining museum quality work.
Moving to San Miguel in December of 2023 with the intention of retiring White says: "The creative energy of the city got my juices flowing again and led me to open yet another gallery. To quote Fred Rodgers, 'Often when you think you're at the end of something, you're at the beginning of something else.'"

John M. White
John M. White best describes his Birds on Wires series as an imaginary landscapes. While he sat staring out of his window one day, he was fascinated by the birds that alighted on the wires around the city. With his artistic vision, he pared-down the birds into an artistic language. The symbol of that experience makes an appearance in many of his subsequent paintings as lines and dots. These pieces are acrylic on archival cardboard stock. They are all unframed.

Sheila Daube
Sheila Daube is an abstract artist from San Diego. Influenced by the mid-century American School she also credits her years as a preschool teacher as fundamental to her art. "I've been trying to paint like a five-year-old for years, trying to return to my original reaction to color and line." Sheila is inspired by timeless themes from mythology, while exploring unique mediums using foil and powdered pigments. Daube teaches classes in abstract art at Art on 30th in San Diego. Her work is found in private collections and has been featured in numerous national shows.
