Richard Trumbull is an American artist originally from the Midwest (Iowa) who currently is living in San Diego and San Miguel de Allende. His internationally known work includes portraits and abstract landscapes that have been exhibited in prestigious galleries and in various countries.
In Mexico Richard Trumbull's work is represented in San Miguel by Galería ZOHO, and in Mexico City and Cabo San Lucas his works are exhibited by Galería Aura.

Trumbull's next exhibition highlights a new direction in his artistic practice, focused on exploring new possibilities within landscape painting.
The artist's recent works are inspired by photographic compositions and are characterized by a solid and deliberately simple workmanship. These pieces evoke suggestive shapes that come to life through a carefully selected color palette, where shades and hues invite the viewer to discover deeper meanings.

"San Miguel and its surround is unique in many ways in what it offers the painter. The light, of course, is primary. But the textures of the historical walls, the painted surfaces fading into painted surfaces like a palimpsest, the curve of the stones in the curving streets, the surprises behind wall, the shape of green against golden stucco and blue sky... The list goes on and on. All of these seem to work to influence the eye."
