A Song for the Day of the Dead
Recuérdame

(Remember Me)

Español

Lyrics translation:

Remember me, today I have to leave, my love.
Remember me, please don't cry.
I carry you in my heart, and you'll always have me near.
I'll sing to you alone, dreaming of returning.
Remember me, even if I have to emigrate.
Remember me, if you hear my guitar weep.
Its mournful song will accompany you.
Until you're in my arms again, remember me.

We are Gitana, Florencia, and Carlos, a duo living in San Miguel de Allende. We wanted to pay homage to one of Mexico's most emblematic traditions, the Day of the Dead. Since arriving in this beautiful country, we have fallen in love with its culture, its unique way of celebrating life and remembering those who have passed on.

Performing "Recuérdame" (written for the film Coco), as sung by @natalialafourcade and @carlosrivera, is our way of saying thank you to Mexico for opening its heart to us, for its warmth, its joy, and for teaching us that love never dies as long as someone remembers you.

Produced by Roger D. Jones
