The first set of photos was taken on the Day of the Dead in 2023 in Arocutin, a fishing village outside of Patzcuaro. It was the third visit my wife and I made to that village. We usually go there around dusk and stay for a couple of hours. It's a very mellow pantheon (graveyard).
The people are pleasant. You can see in the photos that they are setting up and lighting candles. They bring in flowers, food, set up chairs, wear heavy coats and wrap themselves in blankets as many of them will spend the night there with their ancestors.

Ihuatizo
We went to Arocutin at 6:30pm, went to bed at 10:30pm, got up and got to a second panteón at 4am, then to the panteón at the village of Ihuatizo at 6:50am and went back to bed at 8am.
